AFC

The AFC Asian Cup 2011 took place in January 2011 in Qatar. Japan beat Australia 1-0 in the final and became the first team to qualify through a continental competition for the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013.

CAF

 

Nigeria defeated Burkina Faso 1-0 in the 2013 CAF Africa Cup of Nations to earn the right to represent Africa at the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013. The Africa Cup of Nations was played in South Africa in January and February 2013.

UEFA

With Spain already guaranteed a place as world champions, Italy qualified automatically as the European representative after reaching the final of UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

    CONCACAF

    Mexico defeated USA 4-2 in the final of the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, thereby booking their place at the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013.

    OFC

    Tahiti won the OFC Nations Cup 2012 in Honiara, Solomon Islands. They beat New Caledonia 1-0 in the final and will now become the first nation other than Australia or New Zealand to represent Oceania at the global tournament in June 2013.

    CONMEBOL

    Uruguay won the Copa America 2011, which took place in Argentina. They qualify as the second representatives from South America, alongside hosts Brazil.

    As the reigning world champions, Spain qualify automatically for the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013.
