One of Tahiti’s youth brigade who have made a late run for Brazil 2013 selection, Tihoni is in fact the youngest member of the Toa Aito side.
Just 18-years-old, Tihoni is a slimly built striker with a natural poacher’s instinct in front of goal. He has raw pace to burn and also boasts an accomplished dribbling technique.
His only international cap came in Tahiti’s last match prior to Brazil 2013. Tihoni started against New Caledonia in March in what was also the nation’s final, albeit inconsequential, FIFA World Cup qualifier™ with their hopes of a return to Brazil next year having long since been extinguished.
Tihoni plays his club football for one of Tahiti’s lesser known sides, AS Roniu, with the club hailing from the famous surfing spot of Teahupoo.
