A gifted and versatile defender, Hiram Mier has a bright future ahead of him in the national side. He was a cornerstone of the side that took gold at the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament at London 2012 and is primed to make the step up to the senior team.
Mier has plenty of top-level experience, having contested the last two editions of the FIFA Club World Cup with Monterrey. He was a key figure in securing his side’s return ticket to the tournament after winning the CONCACAF Champions League.
Originally a centre-back, Mier’s seamless conversion to full-back has helped strengthen one the most vulnerable areas of the team and looks set to give him a chance to shine on the international stage.
