When the latest edition of the FIFA Confederations Cup kicks off in Brasilia on Saturday, the FIFA.com editorial network will be working hard to ensure that those following the tournament online or on mobile will have the best possible experience.
The regular features which you have come to expect over the years, such as exclusive interviews, photos and videos, daily round-ups and swift match reaction will form the cornerstone of our coverage, yet there are also new features in particular that users will come to know and love during Brazil 2013 and beyond.
Budweiser Man of the Match
The Budweiser Man of the Match Award will go to the best player of each game. The winner will be decided by fans who can vote from half-time until the final whistle of each match on our new MatchCast service, Twitter as well as the Budweiser mobile app.
Voting on MatchCast and the Budweiser mobile app will be self-explanatory, but to vote for the Man of the Match via Twitter you must use the hashtag template #fifaTRI0. Substitute TRI for the FIFA three letter country code of the team your Man of the Match plays for (i.e. “BRA” for Brazil or "JPN" for Japan). Next, replace the "0" with your player’s squad number.
So to vote for Neymar in the opening match of the tournament, you would tweet #fifaBRA10
Think you know better than Scolari, Del Bosque and Prandelli? Well, thanks to Your XI, you can imagine you’re a national coach and select your starting line up!
Now that the squad lists have been announced, you can select your preferred first 11s for each of the group stage games. When the official starting lists are announced before every game, FIFA.com will also display the most popular XI as voted by our users.
Kick-off ball contest
If you can answer quiz questions about the FIFA Confederations Cup correctly, you could win a priceless Official Kick-Off Ball from a match at the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013!
Access the quiz by clicking on the link on the right hand side. When you enter the quiz page, you will see three FIFA Confederations Cup questions. Answer all three questions correctly and you will be eligible to win the Kick-off Ball for that specific match. If more than one user answers correctly, FIFA will select the winner at random from the full list of eligible users.
You can enter as many match quizzes as you like, but you only get one chance to submit your answers, so be sure to consider your answers carefully! Each quiz opens to coincide with the kick-off of the respective match. The quiz remains open until 30 minutes after the game has finished.
Our editorial team who are based throughout Brazil will be keeping you right up to date with all of the action in a daily LIVE blog which begins at 9.30am local time every day from Friday 14 June until Sunday 30 June. This will be your one-stop shop for everything to do with the ‘Confeds’ with Twitter, YouTube, photos – and your comments all in one place. Our coverage on Twitter at @FIFAcom will also be enhanced; don’t forget to use #confeds to join in the discussion.
