An important landmark in the countdown to the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 will be reached at 10:00 (Brasilia time) on Thursday 8 November, when FIFA and the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ Organising Committee (LOC) will reconfirm the venues for next year’s competition at a media briefing held at Sao Paulo’s Museu do Futebol.
Information on the sale of tickets for the tournament will also be revealed at the event, which will be streamed live on FIFA.com.
Attending the briefing along with LOC President Jose Maria Marin, will be former star striker and LOC Management Board member Ronaldo Nazario de Lima, FIFA Marketing Director and Head of Ticketing Thierry Weil, FIFA Director of Communications and Public Affairs Walter de Gregorio, Brazilian Minister of Sport Aldo Rebelo and the Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Ministry of Sport Luis Fernandes.
The 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup will take place on 15-30 June and promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with no fewer than four FIFA World Cup winners lining up: South Africa 2010 champions Spain, Italy, Uruguay and hosts Brazil. Joining them will be reigning continental kings Mexico, Japan and Tahiti, while the identity of Africa’s representatives will be revealed at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations at the start of next year.
