Javier Zanetti Anheuser Busch Man of the Match (ARG)
We knew Mexico would be tough to beat and that's how it turned out. I'd like to dedicate the game to my newborn daughter and I'm really proud to represent my country and to reach another final. I was always confident we'd never lose a game like this and I'm very excited about playing in another big final. I just hope we end up celebrating like we did today.
Juan Pablo Sorin (ARG)
We had to fight all the way. It was a real struggle but we've made the final. We showed a lot of courage and heart. I would have preferred to have won without going to penalties but I think we deserve to be in the final.
Javier Saviola (ARG)
I may have raised my leg a bit high and maybe I deserved to be sent off but I didn't mean to hurt him. It's a shame I can't play against Brazil, but the important thing is that we're in the final. As for the game, well we knew it wouldn't be easy because they're very quick and knock the ball around well. Now we've got to recover and get ready to face Brazil. We'll just have to wait and see if they can make their extra rest day count. I think we'll win, though, because we're up for it.
Esteban Cambiasso (ARG)
I'm delighted I scored the winning penalty. I think we showed a lot of character out there. Now we've got to be positive for the Brazil game. Will they be looking for revenge for the World Cup qualifier? No, I don't think so. We're old rivals and it's always great to play them. What we need to do now is to sleep, eat and get a good rest. We've got plenty of time to plan for the game.
Gabriel Heinze (ARG)
It was just as tough as we expected but we gave it all we had. We're a young, hungry side and we love playing for our country. It should be a cracking game against Brazil.
German Lux (ARG)
I'm so happy I saved a penalty but most of all for having helped beat Mexico. They're a good footballing side. We're going to enjoy the final because it's Brazil. I haven't started thinking about them yet, though. Tonight we're going to celebrate and we'll think about the final tomorrow. I'm happy Zanetti was named man of the match he deserves it.
Mario Santana (ARG)
Our aim was to reach the final and we've done it. We had to work a little harder than we wanted because Mexico kept coming at us with two or three guys up front and made life difficult for us. But now we've got Brazil in the final. That's a great incentive and I really don't think the extra rest day they've had will make much difference.
Gabriel Milito (ARG)
We knew it was going to be a hard night. Mexico are a skilful side who always make it difficult for you and so it proved tonight. It was a close game and we really struggled, but I'm happy we're in the final and that we've got Brazil. That more than makes up for the tiredness.
Luis Perez (MEX)
We want to take something positive from today's game, because we're already thinking ahead to the World Cup in Germany. Argentina did a lot of spoiling out there whereas we wanted to win playing good football. Unfortunately our finishing let us down, but we're still proud of what we've achieved at this Confederations Cup.
Oswaldo Sanchez (MEX)
We showed a lot of responsibility and character, even the youngest players. Rafael Marquez's sending-off affected us. We had the best of the possession, but they had luck on their side with Figueroa's goal and in the penalties. It was such a shame.
Jose Francisco Fonseca (MEX)
Argentina are a difficult team to beat. You learn a lot from games like these, especially the younger players. I think on the balance of play, Argentina were the better side but we're still happy with the impression we've made.
Jared Borgetti (MEX)
We played well today and over the whole tournament. We now want to go and beat Germany and claim third spot, because they are the hosts and that will make it a special game. We know it will be of secondary importance to Brazil-Argentina, but we'll be approaching it with the seriousness it deserves. As for Germany, any team with a player in their ranks as talented and dangerous as Ballack deserves the utmost respect.
Ricardo Osorio (MEX)
I'm disappointed because I had our fate in my hands. Nobody likes to have a penalty saved in that kind of shoot-out, but someone had to miss and I can handle it being me. Nobody has criticised me the opposite really everyone has been trying to cheer me up.
Gonzalo Pineda (MEX)
It was an interesting game. Mexico showed all through this tournament the type of football we like to play. This experience will stand us in good stead for next year. We now have 12 months to keep learning. When we came here there was a certain image of Mexican football, and we've managed to change that. As for my penalty, I was calm. Sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind. That's why I struck it like I did.
Ramon Morales (MEX)
I really wanted to keep on playing, but physically I couldn't keep going. My ribs were sore, so Ricardo decided to take me off.
Jaime Lozano (MEX) It was terrible losing on penalties after having played such a great game. It was a very well-balanced match. Now we need to focus on the third-place game. We know that Germany are a very strong side, but we'll try and beat them nonetheless.
