The day after the opening game at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 between hosts Brazil and Japan, FIFA.com spoke to FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke about the work of volunteers and the match in Brasilia.

On Saturday afternoon Brazil and Japan provided a colourful opening game at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013. A day after the hosts' comfortable 3-0 victory, FIFA.com spoke to FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke, who witnessed the encounter first hand in the Estadio Nacional Mane Garrincha in Brasilia.

Valcke expressed his satisfaction with the work done so far and singled out the tournament volunteers for special praise, particularly those working in ticketing.

In addition, the Secretary General reflected on the match between the only two sides certain to be participating at next year's FIFA World Cup™ so far, as well as suggesting where improvements could be made in different aspects of organisation.
