Hyundai-Kia vehicles set FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 in motion

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation marked the imminent kick-off of the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 by officially handing over the fleet of vehicles that will be used for the event. The Hyundai-Kia VIK Official Handover Ceremony took place last week at the Estadio Nacional in Brasília, which will host the opening ceremony and first match of the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 on 15 June.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by representatives from FIFA, the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Motors Corporation as well as dignitaries from the Brasilia Host City. All delegates were welcomed by Ricardo Trade, Chief Executive Officer of the LOC, who emphasised Brazil’s commitment to stage an unforgettable FIFA Confederations Cup and thanked Hyundai-Kia for their remarkable support.

Speaking at the ceremony, Jay Neuhaus, Head of FIFA Marketing Brazil, said, “The vehicle handover is a vital part of the preparation for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and we are pleased to have such a globally recognized automotive brand provide us with stylish, reliable and comfortable vehicles to safely transport our FIFA officials, VIPs and others.”

In total, Hyundai-Kia will provide 500 vehicles throughout the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013. Hyundai’s award-winning models such as the HB20, Azera, Santa Fe and H1 passenger van and the luxurious Genesis will contribute to smooth operation of the huge scale global event.

Kia has also supplied numerous models in the build-up to this football festival with models such as its Cadenza and Optima passenger sedans, Sportage and Sorento sport utility vehicles and the Carnival multipurpose vehicle.
