Open to the public for guided tours from Sunday 21 April, Recife’s Arena Pernambuco (pictured) is the feature venue of our Stadiums Progress update for the first half of April. With the pitch installed and work at the stadium nearing a conclusion, the venue is set to host three games at the upcoming FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and another five at the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™.
Another stadium set to be inaugurated this April is the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, the venue for the finals of both the FIFA Confederations Cup and the FIFA World Cup. Our Stadiums Progress feature also brings you images of the Estadio Nacional in Brasilia, where the opening game of the FIFA Confederations Cup will kick off on 15 June.
The other three venues that will be used for the Festival of Champions – the Castelao in Fortaleza, the Mineirao in Belo Horizonte and the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador – have already been inaugurated and will each stage three games at Brazil 2013.
