England goalkeeper Joe Hart has dismissed suggestions that lower expectations would take the pressure of his team-mates heading into their UEFA EURO 2012 campaign.

A number of injuries and the suspension of Wayne Rooney means England will head into next Monday's Group D opener against France with many observers believing Roy Hodgson's side will do well to reach the quarter-finals.

However, Manchester City star Hart was quick dismiss the notion that the low-key expectations surrounding the squad would benefit England's chances.

We've come to win, we've come to do well, we've come to represent our country and make people proud.

"We're all hungry guys and we're successful at football and that's what we want," Hart told a press conference in Krakow.

"We're not here thinking 'People won't mind if we lose, we can go home and go on holiday and no-one will care'.

"We have high expectations otherwise there's no point in us being here. We've come to win, we've come to do well, we've come to represent our country and make people proud."
