Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio was in upbeat mood following his side's draw with Portugal, praising El Tri for containing the European champions and their star captain.
"We matched the European champions and created chances, but we had trouble converting them," he said. "We managed to keep Cristiano Ronaldo in check. We had almost 60 per cent of possession. We deserve a lot of praise for our performance and the way we went toe to toe with the European champions."

Portugal coach Fernando Santos, for his part, was philosophical after his team conceded a late equaliser. "We'd prepared for the game very well and were up against a really good, technically gifted side," he said.
"We struggled to keep the ball initially, but we were eventually able to hold our own and we could even have won it. Ultimately it's a fair result, though, because Mexico played really well."
