Later this week, the country will see the coronation of the 2012 champions, whose fans will doubtless be heading home with indelible memories of a decisive move or goal they witnessed at the stadiums or the sight of their captain hoisting the trophy into the sky amid the flashes of the assembled photographers.
However, as well as these triumphant snapshots, visitors will also go away with memories of Japan’s rich and captivating culture, not to mention its vibrant cities.
