Costa Rica's Deportivo Saprissa and Australia's Sydney FC will meet in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Championship TOYOTA Cup Japan 2005 with Liverpool, who like Sao Paulo enter at the semi-final stage, playing the winners in Yokohama. Saturday's Final draw in Tokyo also pitted together the African and Asian champions, who are still to be determined, with the victors facing the newly crowned Libertadores holders in the other semi in Tokyo.
After a stunning operatic display, FIFA General Secretary Dr Urs Linsi, accompanied by Dr Viacheslav Koloskov, FIFA Executive Committee member and Chairman of the Organising Committee, Saburo Kawabuchi, President of Japan Football Association and member of the Organising Committee along with veteran Japanese striker Masashi Nakayama, attended the draw in Tokyo's Westin Hotel where, screened live on Japanese TV, the championship trophy was unveiled to the gathered media.
Down to the last eight, the Asian and African Champions League tournaments will not be concluded until later in the year. The draw will be complete when the final pieces of the puzzle are slotted into place on 31 October in Asia and from 11-13 November in Africa. The tournament takes place from 11-18 December in three cities Tokyo, Yokohama and Toyota.
