A four-man team will be making a detailed analysis of the 14 matches of the first FIFA Club World Championship in Brazil.

The Technical Study Group is headed by the Director of the FIFA Development Division, Walter Gagg. It also includes Jean-Paul Brigger (Switzerland, former international player and coach), Oswaldo Ramirez Salcedo (Peru, former international player and coach), Howard Wilkinson (England, National Technical Director) and Neil Barton (Scotland (coach).

The TSG members study the way in which the eight teams have prepared for the competition, as well as their training methods during the event, their tactical concept and their performance in the matches.

“The way in which teams have approached this first Club World Championship will be very important for planning the competition’s future,” said Walter Gagg. “We shall also be paying special attention to how the event fits into the overall international calendar, which continues to be one of FIFA’s priority projects.”

A full report on the Group’s analysis will be produced in a few weeks’ time.
