Real Madrid presented with the FIFA World Champions Badge

By defeating Gremio in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017, Real Madrid have earned the honour of being able to wear the official FIFA World Champions Badge on their competition jerseys for the duration of 2018.

Real Madrid will be able to proudly display the emblem all the way up to the next FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates in December 2018.

Real Madrid were presented with their badges during the official awards ceremony after the match against Gremio in front of a sold-out crowd on a warm Saturday evening at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Madrid, who sported the reminder of their FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2016 triumph for the duration of 2017, will hold onto the coveted gold crest for another year, much to the delight of the Spanish stars.

Real Madrid’s victory will see it adorn their shirt for a third time and marks the sixth occasion that a Spanish team has claimed the FIFA World Champions Badge. More importantly for Madrid, they now equal Barcelona’s record of three World Champions Badges.
