Goal-line technology (GLT) is in full use at the FIFA Club World Cup Morocco 2013 which also means GLT animated replays are on display, that some fans may be viewing for the first time.

The GoalControl-4D system – the official GLT provider for the tournament – generates the replays automatically and feature not only for television viewers but also for fans inside the stadiums, which can be seen on the giant scree inside the ground.

The GLT replays created differ from television replays in that they are animated. Standard television replays can sometimes be misleading in determining whether or not the ball has crossed the line depending on the vantage point of cameras placed inside the stadium. Additionally the ball may be heavily obscured, in which case television replays may not be able to show whether or not the ball has crossed the line.

With dedicated technology evaluating goal-line incidents, the referee is supported with clear evidence in the decision-making process by the specific GLT animated replays.
