Luis Enrique, Barcelona coach
It took us a bit of time to get going tonight. The injuries we’ve had forced a bit of a reshuffle, we made a few mistakes and Guangzhou had a different style to what we’re used to, but I think we played quite well. We did everything we needed to do and we had a good rhythm to our play, particularly in the second half. I was delighted to see Luis Suarez score a hat trick. He’s extremely talented and looked dangerous tonight. He’s an essential part of the team and played spectacularly well.

Luiz Felipe Scolari, Guangzhou Evergrande coach
We may have lost, but there’s no shame in losing 3-0 to Barcelona. Other top European clubs have suffered the same result or even worse. Even without Messi and Neymar, they have a squad of players who possess exceptional quality. Their style of football was a real lesson for us. They showed us how to play beautiful football; to be able to have time and space on the ball, to use it well and take chances. Tonight we showed great effort, great determination and we are learning all the time.
