Hajime Moriyasu, Sanfrecce Hiroshima coach
We scored our first goal at a great time. In the first half they were pressing us, penning us back in our own half and winning many corner kicks which we had to defend well. Although we had possession, we found it difficult to create chances because of their strength. I was really pleased with how disciplined we were. Our patience was crucial – and, once again, my players stuck to the game plan extremely well. They were smart and clever and fully deserved the win.

Patrice Carteron, TP Mazembe coach
It’s a big loss for us. Our usual rhythm and concentration were lacking, as was the strength we usually have. We’ve worked hard in training and spoken frequently about concentrating more, but I’m so disappointed that we haven’t shown our potential. We knew that they were a strong team, which they obviously showed, but we just didn’t play well. We got exactly what we deserved, I have no complaints. It’s always easy to find excuses, but I have none. I can only congratulate Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

Kazuyuki Morisaki, Alibaba E-Auto Player of the Match
I’ve never been awarded something like this before and I’m very happy. Mazembe played well initially – and we had to learn to cope with them, but after we scored, I felt we controlled the game.
