FIFA.com: What did playing at a FIFA World Cup at the age of 21 (at France 98) mean to you professionally?
Ronaldo:
It was a great thrill for me to be able to take part in the biggest tournament on the world football stage. Wearing the Brazil shirt at a World Cup is the greatest prize a player can receive, especially if they win. It's the ultimate prize.
Did you dream about playing at the FIFA World Cup as a kid?
I'd dreamt about this since I was little. I followed the 1982 World Cup with my friends on the street where I used to live, and the sight of the Brazilian fans had me repeatedly dreaming of lifting that Cup.

Was winning this Trophy symbolically important for you?
I had a very serious injury before the last World Cup and needed a long time to recover. Thank God, though, I made a full recovery and had enough time to find my form and fitness in time for the finals.

Four years on, what's your abiding memory of that 2002 FIFA World Cup? The best moment was laying my hands the Trophy, lifting it up and kissing it. Without a doubt, that was the best moment. For me, that was the best moment of that World Cup.

What does this Trophy mean to you?
It's the greatest award a footballer can achieve. It's a collective title, and something global that every country wants to win. I've already won it twice and I hope to do so again.
