  • Since the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™, a stadium chapel has been located in the main stand just metres from the pitch that is said by many experts to be the most beautiful of its kind in the world. Bible verses are inscribed in this oval of pure gold in 18 different languages, offering comfort and inspiration to visitors from all over the world.
  • There was previously a racecourse where the Olympiastadion stands today. The Deutsches Stadion was built in the centre of the course and held more than 30,000 spectators. Both were demolished to make way for the current arena, with almost 500 companies and 2,600 people tasked with building the new stadium.
  • In July 2008, Mario Barth set the world record for the live comedian with the biggest audience, playing to a crowd of 70,000 at the Olympiastadion. In September 2011, Pope Benedict XVI celebrated Holy Mass there as part of a visit to Germany.
