Tahiti bagged a hat-trick at home to add to the famous goal they scored against Nigeria in the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 with news that three more companies have signed on to become National Supporters of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013.

Mobile telecommunications company VINI, electricity suppliers EDT and the Institute of Youth and Sport of French Polynesia (IJSPF) have all joined Tahiti Tourism on the roster of FIFA Commercial Affiliates for the tournament, which kicks-off on 18 September.

Commercial partners with the Tahitian Football Association (FTF) since 2004, VINI is a subsidiary of French Polynesia’s state-owned postal and telecommunications company, OPT.

The EDT, meanwhile, is part of GDF SUEZ Energy Services, one of Europe’s leading energy suppliers, and has been a keen supporter of cultural events throughout French Polynesia for some time.

Founded in 1981, the IJSPF is a public organisation committed to the management and promotion of youth facilities and sport throughout French Polynesia and is responsible for the implementation of high performance sport along with the medical monitoring of athletes throughout the region.

VINI, the EDT and the IJSPF all received National Supporter Certificates at a recent Official Presentation Ceremony and the three join Tahiti Tourism, which signed on to back the tournament in January 2012.

After receiving the National Supporter Certificate, IJSPF Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Antonio Arai spoke of his organisation’s pride at being involved with the tournament and hope that it would not be the last time FIFA was in Tahiti.

He said: “We are absolutely delighted to be part of such a prestigious event as the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! It is the outcome of almost three years of work with the Local Organising Committee (LOC). We really hope FIFA will choose French Polynesia again for its other future events.”
