On 7 January 2013, during the FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony, FIFA will reveal the FIFA/FIFPro World XI for 2012 as voted for by over 50,000 professional footballers. From 19 November, you will be able to begin selecting your World XI. You can change your selection as often as you like up until 4 January 2013. Be sure to select your final World XI before the deadline!
The official 55-man shortlist for the FIFA/FIFPro World XI will be released in four separate phases.
19 November: 5 goalkeepers revealed
22 November: 20 defenders revealed
26 November: 15 midfielders revealed
29 November: 15 forwards revealed
Once the first shortlist (goalkeepers) is published you can begin predicting. Start selecting your World XI goalkeeper as soon as the list is released or simply wait until all the phases are complete before making your selection. The choice is yours!
Step-by-step guide
Step 1: Review the footballers shortlisted for the 2012 FIFA/FIFPro World XI.
Step 2: Add players to your World XI Team as the players are revealed OR wait until 29 November to view all 55 players at once. (There is no advantage to choosing your players as soon as they are announced or simply waiting until all 55-names are revealed.)
Step 3: Make sure you select your final FIFA/FIFPro World XI for 2012 before the contest deadline (4 January 2013). Your selection must consist of: 1 Goalkeeper, 4 Defenders, 3 Midfielders and 3 Forwards.
Step 4: On 7 January 2013, follow the FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony live on FIFA.com and compare your World XI to the actual FIFA/FIFPro World XI. All entries which accurately predict the FIFA World XI for 2012 will be entered into our Grand Prize Draw!
