Since his promotion to first-choice goalkeeper for Manchester City in 2010, Joe Hart has grown in stature, consistency and technique, also establishing himself as No1 for England in the process. An ever-present for his club in each of the last two Premier League campaigns, the 25-year-old was a key element in City’s 2011/12 triumph, conceding the lowest number of goals in the division – which proved a vital statistic when the championship was secured on goal difference from fierce rivals Manchester United. On an individual level, Hart has also been awarded the Golden Glove award for the most clean sheets in England’s top flight in each of the last two years.
