The nominees: Who's the best?

Based on their performances during the year, almost every football fan would love to have either Kaka, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo playing for their team, but which one would you choose first?

After being nominated by coaches and national team captains around the world, the talented trio are in the running to become the FIFA World Player 2007, with the winner being announced at the glittering FIFA World Player Gala at Zurich's Opera House on Monday 17 December.

A UEFA Champions League winner with AC Milan, Kaka's form has been nothing less than sensational over the past 12 months, but the same can be said of Ronaldo and Messi, his challengers for the laurels.

Ronaldo has picked up a whole host of awards in his native Portugal and in England, becoming the first footballer since former Aston Villa and Scotland striker Andy Gray in 1977 to receive the PFA's Player and Young Player of the Year awards in the same season.

Messi has continued to dazzle for Barcelona and Argentina. Although his team surrendered the UEFA Champions League and La Liga titles during the year, it was through no fault of the 20-year-old, who was imperious throughout.

Although your comments will not affect the overall result, they will no doubt serve as a good litmus test to measure the feelings of the fans. So, what are you waiting for? Click 'Add Your Comment' below and tell us who you think is the best player of the three nominees.
