Football on St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Despite the dearth of facilities on the St. Vincent and Grenadines archipelago, football is still the most popular sport on the islands. One major consideration is the appointment of a foreign technical director or coach who would devote time and energy to youth level. One player has made his name internationally - national team captain Esra Hendrickson, who plays for DC United in the USA.
Goal project
On 22 October 2008 the Goal Bureau approved an amendment to a plan submitted in autumn 2005 to build a technical centre. The St Vincent and the Grenadines FA now has its sights set on its own headquarters, mainly to bring an end to the current situation of having to rent its office space. The funds that would be freed up would then be spent on promoting football.
