Football in Samoa

The third Goal project
On 3 December 2006, the Goal Bureau gave its first ever approval to projects from member associations who had already benefited from Goal on two previous occasions. Whereas there had hitherto been no means of holding evening fixtures on international standard pitches in Samoa, the Goal Bureau has now given the green light for the installation of floodlighting at the national stadium, thus generally increasing the playing time available and, in particular, enabling Samoa to host international competitions. The Samoa Football Soccer Federation played host to the South Pacific Games football tournament in September 2007.
