Football on the Cayman Islands
Football is the most popular sport on the Cayman Islands, but a targeted, coordinated development plan was only recently launched. Success will not come overnight and the football-crazy islanders must patiently await their first taste of success. A number of national association officials sit on committees of CONCACAF and FIFA, and also occupy strategic positions during various international competitions.
Second Goal project
The second Goal project completes the technical centre that was built for the Cayman Islands FA under the first Goal project. The project approved by the Goal Bureau on 22 October 2008 consists of building a football pitch alongside the centre, thus providing the Cayman Islands FA with headquarters, a technical centre and training facilities on the same site.
