Short Description:
The Futbol Forever Programme uses football as a framework for children to learn. This is accomplished through a series of educational football clinics for children and training courses for coaches and volunteers who will run the clinics in each location. Each clinic is made up of a series of specifically designed exercises leading to a model of learning that smoothly connects learning techniques to basic emotional values for the development of the child. Currently, the Futbol Forever Programme is being implemented in El Salvador and Zambia and is being developed in South Africa and other countries. In these countries, the programme establishes a series of procedures for its implementation and encourages the use of existing resources in the community.

Target Group:
Underprivileged children and youth between 6-16y old

Thematic Field(s):

  • Children's rights and education

Support in the Framework of the Football for Hope Movement:
Futbol Forever received funds in 2007 through the Football for Hope Movement to start up a social football project in El Salvador. With the cooperation of the El Salvador Football Association and the national institute for sports, Futbol Forever will be giving workshops throughout the country to spread the positive and social value of football to children and youths in El Salvador. A first series of pilot workshops will start in the capital of El Salvador, San Salvador, before spreading to the rest of the country. The goal is to train and educate as many motivated youths in the social benefits of football, who can then put this theory into practice and create opportunities for thousands of children in El Salvador.
