Short Description:
CHILD's mission is to build an inclusive environment that is friendly for both children and adults who are stricken by poverty, marginalisation, abuse, exploitation, violence and destitution in society. The organisation promotes sport as a vehicle for renewal, peace, conflict transformation and healing between people and their communities. The streetfootballworld network member (since 2003) builds on the knowledge and skills of the communities' youth to encourage awareness of social imbalances, harmful cultural practices, and children's rights. Through the programmes, young people are empowered by youth leadership training and conflict resolution skills to sustain their activities, including youth exchange camps, a female dance club, football tournaments, and much more.

Support in the Framework of the Football for Hope Movement:
CHILD was awarded funding to support its established strategic plans for development through football after a long period of civil turmoil in Liberia. A network community football club is being created to engage 1200 youth and children in order to address issues of HIV/Aids prevention and peaceful conflict resolution in rural areas of the country. This process requires capacity building for coaches, referees and instructors to successfully deliver both the educational and sport aspects of the programme. Part of the funding is also going towards the renovation of community football fields. In order to achieve these objectives, CHILD has been collaborating on different levels with various entities such as community football clubs and other local sports bodies, child protection agencies, UNICEF Liberia and the UN Mission in Liberia .
