An initiative of FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter, the FIFA Ambassadors against Racism are a multi-racial "team" of current and former distinguished football players and coaches, led by Thierry Henry, whose task is to help disseminate a strong and unified message against racism worldwide.
The Ambassadors' role is that of actively promoting the fight against this blight on our society and representing football's firm stance at any time, during interviews, events, summits, etc.
The ambassadorship is a two-way street, as not only do Ambassadors represent FIFA's position at the above-mentioned events, but they can also act as an active conduit of good ideas, proposals and concerns from the events back to FIFA.
The following players and coaches are the current FIFA Ambassadors against Racism:
Thierry Henry (Captain)
Anthony Baffoe
Bobby Charlton
Sven-Goran Eriksson
Mia Hamm
Hong Myung-Bo
Charmaine Hooper
Pele
Abedi Pele
Michel Platini
Birgit Prinz
Wynton Rufer
