Host Broadcasting

Delivery of FIFA-standard broadcast signals and services at FIFA events is the main task of the Host Broadcasting Production Department. At each FIFA event, the department works closely with all stakeholders (the Local Organising Committee, the FIFA-appointed host broadcaster, etc.) to ensure the facilities at each venue and in the event’s International Broadcast Centre are of the highest standard, and then broadcast the matches to a global audience. The department also provides TV-related services to all relevant stakeholders on site.

When taking the media rights in-house, FIFA also decided to take control of the TV production of its events to safeguard consistent quality and full integration of its event designs. In this process, FIFA has appointed the company HBS as host broadcaster for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2018 FIFA World Cup™. HBS will also assist FIFA with host broadcasting matters, the development of host broadcasting requirements and guidelines, as well as the supervision of the host broadcasters appointed by FIFA for other FIFA events during the 2015-2018 event cycle, to ensure that FIFA’s broadcast operations guidelines and standards are met.
