FIFA President to visit Jordan, Palestine and Israel

FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter will make a four-day visit to Jordan, Palestine and Israel from 25-28 October, during which he will have the chance to see the first international match ever to be played at home by the Palestinian national team since their affiliation to FIFA in 1998.

On Saturday, 25 October, President Blatter will lay the foundation stone of the third FIFA Goal project in Jordan, a football turf pitch in Amman, and he will meet with H.R.H. Prince Faisal Bin Al-Hussein, before visiting the headquarters of the Jordan Football Association.

One day later, he will arrive in Palestine, where he will meet H.E. President Mahmoud Abbas and H.E. Prime Minister Dr Salam Fayyad. In Ram, he will inaugurate the headquarters of the Palestinian Football Association, a football turf field and Palestine's first international-standard stadium, which was funded by FIFA and some additional donations. He will also participate in the inauguration of a second football turf field, the Majed Al-Asaad pitch, in El Bireh. Finally, President Blatter will attend the international friendly match between Palestine and Jordan, which will be played at the Ram stadium and will be the first ever international match to be played in the Palestinian territories.

On Monday, 27 October, the FIFA President will arrive in Israel, where he will take part in the inauguration of the Peres Peace House on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Peres Center for Peace. Finally, on Tuesday, 28 October, President Blatter will participate in the inauguration of football pitches funded by FIFA's Goal projects, before returning to Zurich.
