Visiting Brussels on Monday, FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and FIFA General Secretary Jerome Valcke paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Belgian Football Association (URBSFA) and met with the organisation's president, Francois de Keersmaecker, and newly appointed secretary general, Steven Martens.
The FIFA delegation discussed a number of subjects with the Belgian FA chiefs, including the work being carried out with youngsters at the EURO 2000 National Football Academy, the progress being made by the country’s youth teams, and the senior team’s preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ qualifying competition.
Another topic for discussion was the power of football to bring people together, as symbolised in Belgium by the national team, Les Diables Rouges, which counts on the support of all sections of Belgian society.
