The Asian visit by FIFA's President Joseph S. Blatter and his AFC counterpart Mohamed Bin Hammam continued on 4 April in Indonesia's Banda Aceh province, one of the areas most badly affected by the tsunami.

Here, life is slowly returning to normal. Everywhere, there are building sites, humanitarian organisations still active on the ground, and people trying to erase the memory of the disaster in any way they can. But in spite of all these efforts, there remains a great deal to be done.

Consequently, the only sports federation actively involved here was welcomed with great enthusiasm and hope. Football is this country's national sport, and a visit by the president of its highest governing body served as a powerful message of hope for all. "You haven't been forgotten and you never will," the President assured his audience.

During this visit, Sepp Blatter also met with the country's Minister for Sport and the Governor of Aceh, Mustafa Abu Bakar, as well as with the President of the National Olympic Committee.

The FIFA Delegation toured various affected areas, visited Lampineung stadium and received updates on the projects in progress within the framework of the FIFA/AFC-Tsunami solidarity fund and on the six clubs which are benefiting from the aid.
