Despite the extremely high level of playing comfort, the development of artificial playing surfaces is far from complete. The football turf installations of the future will be even more technically developed, adaptable and “greener” or more sustainable. The major advantage of football turf is that, unlike natural grass, it can be adapted to external conditions thanks to advances in technology and innovative ideas.

The focus of this study is on whether a football player’s body reacts differently depending on whether he is playing on natural grass or artificial turf. The study examines specific movements such as shooting, sprints, jumps and quick turns as well as heart rate, lactate levels and general fatigue.
