FIFA’s numismatic programme has been attracting the interest of many national mints all over the world since 2004. Coins, medals and tokens are traditionally issued to commemorate FIFA’s signature events and the FIFA World Cup™ in particular. The official international commemorative coin programme for the 2014 FIFA World Cup is aimed at globally promoting the tournament and spreading awareness of its official marks.

FIFA has re-appointed the company MDM (Münzhandelsgesellschaft Deutsche Münze) for the development, promotion and roll-out of the official international commemorative coin programme for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
