The Association of Summer Olympic Federations received a commemorative FIFA flag upon reaching its 25th anniversary on 3 June.

The organisation celebrated reaching the milestone in Athens during the 32nd General Assembly. At this event, FIFA vice-president and President of the Organising Committee for the Olympic Football Tournaments Issa Hayatou presented the flag to ASOIF President Denis Oswald.

For the past 25 years, ASOIF has sought to unite, promote and support the International Summer Olympic Federations; to preserve their autonomy, while co-ordinating their common interests and goals. Its role is to serve and represent the Summer Olympic International Federations in the most competent, articulate and professional manner on issues of common interest in the Summer Olympic Games and the Olympic Movement, and on any other matter deemed necessary by the International Federations.
