The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup has grown to become one of the most anticipated sporting events worldwide, gathering huge interest from all parties: sponsors, host cities, supporters and media. After six successful editions, and another thrilling tournament looming in September 2013 in Tahiti, this showcase event has acquired elite recognition of the highest scale. At the same time Beach Soccer has been gaining a leading place in the heart of millions of passionate sports fans across the globe.

Acknowledging the unique opportunity of having such a high-profile event land on one’s doorstep, 12 Member Associations have begun the bidding procedures to host the 2015 edition of the tournament, as FIFA announced after the Executive Committee met recently. The Member Associations who have submitted the Declaration of Interest are Brazil (CBF), Russia (FUR), Ecuador (FEF), Switzerland (SFV-ASF), Mauritius (MFA), France (FFF), Portugal (FPF), El Salvador (FESFUT), Thailand (FAT), Senegal (SFF), Hungary (MLSZ) and Bulgaria (BFU). Hailing from five different continents, it is a record number of bidders for the event.

So, after Rio de Janeiro 2005, 2006 and 2007, Marseille 2008, Dubai 2009, Ravenna/Italy 2011 and Tahiti 2013, there’s many candidates in the running with the venue for the 2015 edition to be announced in May 2013.
