FIFA and ETH Zurich sign Memorandum of Understanding

On Thursday 10 July FIFA and ETH Zurich, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology signed a memorandum of understanding, as they intend to intensify research exchange, research collaboration and communication.

In particular, the 'Football for Health' project is expected to be strengthened by this collaboration, which tackles worldwide challenges. The Memorandum will also promote research, education and innovation at ETH Zurich.

A FIFA delegation, led by FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter, plus Professor Jiri Dvorak, the Chairman of F-MARC (FIFA Medical Assessment and Research Centre) and Dr. Astrid Junge, head of Medical Research at F-MARC met with Professor Ralph Eichler, the President of ETH, Professor Peter Chen, the Vice-President of Research at ETH plus representatives of the ETH Zurich Foundation, including their President, Ulrich Bremi and Managing Director, Dr. Donald Tillman.

"FIFA is very honoured to sign this Memorandum of Understanding which not only proves that ETH holds the scientific work already done by FIFA in the highest regard, but also opens the new ways for collaboration and development, in particular related to the innovative concept of medical engineering as presented by Professor Chen" said Professor Dvorak.
