On his first visit to Windhoek in January 2011, Prof. Jiri Dvorak, Chairman F-MARC, met with major stakeholders of the Namibia Football Association and Namibian Ministries of Health and Social Services, Youth, National Service, Sport and Culture, and Education to lay the foundation for a multi-sided cooperation to implement the “11 for Health” in Namibia.

Following a visit by F-MARC research team comprising Dr Astrid Junge, PhD, and Prof. Colin Fuller, PhD, in March, plans were finalised for a pilot study in 11 schools involving about 400 to 500 children to start in May 2011. Based on the results of this pilot study the project group will decide on the expansion and possibly country-wide implementation of the programme in all school classes with 11 year-old children.
