The Universidad Católica Argentina en Buenos Aires and the Universidad Santo Tomás de Santiago en Chili have begun their fifth and second - respectively - FIFA/CIES sports management programmes. The programmes were launched in the presence of members from the universities' authorities and CIES representatives.
The sports management programmes are increasingly successful,
from the point of view of both the number and level of the
candidates. The students come from different sports entities
(national federations, clubs, local associations, government
bodies) and from different sports (football, basketball, swimming,
polo, tennis, hockey, boxing, full contact, etc.).
They also represent a wide spectrum of professional backgrounds: sports technicians, physical educators, professional athletes, lawyers, journalists, event organisers, marketing managers, specialists in communications or directors of human resources.
The programme will end next October, by which time the participants will have studied the key areas of sports management: marketing, communications, law, event management, management and finance.
