Partner of CIES since 2004, the Universidad Catolica Argentina (UCA) has officially launched the ninth edition of the UCA/FIFA/CIES Programme in law and management of sport. The classes will start in May 2012.

For the past eight years, the UCA/FIFA/CIES Programme has brought together more than 300 students not only from Argentina, but also from Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil, Panama, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, France, Venezuela, Peru and Mexico. This demonstrates the excellent reputation of the course within the South American sport community. The Programme enables people from various professional and sporting backgrounds to familiarise themselves with modern management tools in key areas such as marketing, sponsorship, law, management, communication, finance and event management. Adapted to regional and national requirements, it also offers the opportunity to attend lectures given by international FIFA/CIES experts.

"The strengths of the Programme are clear theoretical modules, shared experiences during the course and the diversity of profiles within the group of students (age, educational background, country of origin)" commented Alvaro Mignaqui, alumni of the 8th edition of the Programme. Nicolas Abud, another student, added: “The Programme largely exceeded my initial expectations… I strongly recommend it because it provides a well-rounded – professional, human and sport-related - continuing education and because it is delivered with a spirit of excellence”.

The International University Network created within the framework of the FIFA/CIES Programme comprises 13 universities in 13 countries, namely Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Egypt, Palestine, Senegal, Spain, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Ukraine and Venezuela.
