Ever since the launch of its Goal Programme, FIFA has relied on a network of in-country development offices to help it to achieve its football development aims. Twelve FIFA development officers and their teams are tasked with supervising and helping member associations as they implement FIFA programmes, as well as noting trends that emerge in their respective regions.

In constant contact with headquarters back in Zurich, the FIFA development offices are effectively the governing body’s local branches, through which associations can establish a communication channel with FIFA.

  • Implementation of FIFA’s development programmes and services at member association level
  • Coordinating FIFA’s activities with the confederations for each member association
  • Informing member associations about FIFA’s development activities
  • Monitoring member associations and the football trends in their region
  • Serving as a relay between FIFA and the member associations
