With his official visit to India drawing to a close, FIFA
President Joseph S. Blatter spent the early part of Tuesday at the
Mahatma Gandhi memorial. It was an emotional moment, blessed by
pleasant morning sunshine.
The FIFA delegation then made its way to the brand new
headquarters of the Indian Football Association (AIFF), a building
that should inspire pride all across the country. Following the
opening ceremony, Mr. Blatter and AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam
met with representatives of Indian club teams, exchanging ideas in
concrete and constructive terms for more than an hour. "I
wanted to know what they think, what their worries are and what
they need ," explained the FIFA President with much enthusiasm
after the meeting.
In the evening, the delegation attended the AIFF's 70th Congress, before returning to Switzerland later that night.
