On Sunday 27 August, Ulrichen (Valais, Switzerland) will celebrate the ninth edition of the ' Sepp Blatter Tournament '. Apart from the FIFA President himself, the event will be attended by some big names from the world of football such as Michel Platini, Jorg Stiel and Kobi Kuhn. All will take part in a fun football match, the high point of a day that is all about friendship.

Platini, Kuhn, Gabriel Calderdon, Karl-Heinz Riedle, Hansi Muller, Renzo Blumenthal, and Baschi are just some of the stars who will be involved in this gala match between the FIFA team and the Match-Team of SF Zwei. The FIFA side will be coached by Kuhn, while their opponents will be managed by Gilbert Gress.

The festivities will also include a tombola, music and competitions. The final of the junior competition will take place in the afternoon, after which it will be the turn of the tournament final itself. At 16:00 hours, the exhibition match featuring some of the great names in world football will get underway.

Ulrichen is the home town of  Joseph S. Blatter and his family. When he was elected FIFA President in 1998, the town awarded him the title of "honorary burgher" of Ulrichen and, to commemorate the occasion, a football tournament bearing his name was created. In 2005, it was won by Lucerne, who will be defending their title this year.
