As of today football fans from all over the world have the opportunity to embrace the excitement surrounding the upcoming FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and 2014 FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil by ordering their own ‘piece of the action’ on FIFA’s new e-commerce platform on FIFA.com, the Official FIFA Online Store.
Products on offer will include plush toys of the Official Mascot of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Fuleco as well as a range of further event-specific merchandise for both events. In addition to this fans will also be able to show their devotion to their own national teams with selected national team jerseys also available.
“The e-commerce platform is a vitally important component of our global licensing programme,” said FIFA’s Marketing Director Thierry Weil. “We have a great range of merchandise available and we want to ensure that accessibility to this range is optimal. I’m sure that the online store will give football fans worldwide the opportunity to own their very own piece of the FIFA World Cup”.
The international e-commerce will be managed by FIFA’s licensee Sports Endeavors who have previously managed similar operations for other high profile international sporting events. The Brazilian store is operated by B2W, the largest online retailer in Latin America, who were appointed by FIFA’s Master Licensee in Brazil, Globo Marcas.
The merchandise will be primarily focused on the two events in Brazil, however fans of FIFA’s other tournaments will also be able to choose from a selected range of products on offer for upcoming events such as the FIFA Interactive World Cup, the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey, the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti amongst others.
