On Thursday 10 November, FIFA once again took part in the annual Futur en tous genres (Future Choices) day. This initiative, which was also replicated in a number of other Swiss companies, offers employees’ children a first taste of the world of work and the wide range of future opportunities that are open to them.
The objective is to pique the children’s interest in terms of just how varied their future occupations could be, and by doing so open their minds towards professions or roles that they had previously known little about.
As a result, boys and girls between ten and 13 years of age accompanied one of their parents to their workplace. All of them thus had the chance to see their father/mother and their colleagues in their professional environment, as well as learning more about the role that each of them carries out.
As an added bonus, the youngsters were able to share their experiences in an impromptu debate with FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter. “Today is the ‘Future Choices’ day, but the truth is the future really belongs to you!” said Blatter.
