Tomorrow will see the FIFA Task Force Football 2014 convene for the second time, with Franz Beckenbauer chairing the summit at the Home of FIFA in Zurich.

Nor will ‘Der Kaiser’ be the only footballing legend playing a prominent role, with Zambia icon Kalusha Bwalya having been nominated as the Task Force’s Co-Deputy Chairman. The Task Force members are, in fact, all high-profile football and medical experts, and they are meeting in Zurich to discuss several key matters.

Among them is the issue of fair play relating to conduct of players, coaches and officials on and off the pitch as well as of fan groups. Also on the agenda is an analysis of the ‘triple punishment’ of red card, penalty and suspension for offences inside the penalty box, and the theme of communication between officials.
