FIFA is to play a role in the University of Zurich’s MASIO (Master of Advanced Studies in International Organisations) master programme, which focuses on law and regulations governing international organisations.

The University of Zurich's master programme, which is run in co-operation with the University of Geneva, provides in-depth and practice-related knowledge about law and regulations that govern international organisations. In order to specifically meet the needs of practitioners, it includes several sub-modules, one of which concerns international sports organisations such as FIFA UEFA and the IOC.

In this module, sport's economic and entertainment elements come under the microscope, with TV rights, protection of brands, sponsoring, ambush marketing, competition law and player transfer rules among the topics in focus. FIFA will be playing its part, with the world governing body's Director of Legal Affairs, Marco Villiger, set to address students on this and another module on Dispute Resolution in International Sports.
